Kolhapur (Maharashtra), Feb 16 (IANS) Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday inaugurated the Shiv Sena’s two-day convention aimed at spurring the party to capture all the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
Industry Minister Uday Samant said that six resolutions were passed unanimously on the first day, starting with one congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the construction of the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya and another hailing him for the work done for the progress of India, and the decision to set up a separate Ministry for Cooperation at the Centre.
The third resolution lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the decision to abrogate Article 370 and declaring Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh as Union Territories.
The next resolution congratulated Eknath Shinde’s policies that have led to the welfare of the people of the state, followed by a political resolution that the Shiv Sena would fight the Lok Sabha polls under Shinde’s leadership as part of the MahaYuti alliance.
The final resolution on ‘Mission 48’ said the grand MahaYuti alliance of Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP and other allies would win all the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
“A special sixth resolution lauded Shinde for working with the ideas of the late Balasaheb Thackeray for all these years,” said Samant.
The Shiv Sena announced it would institute a series of ‘Shiv Samman Awards’ from next year in memory of various personalities who contributed to building the party along with Balasaheb Thackeray.
These awards are: Excellence in Labour Award in the name of Dattaji Salvi, Innovative Entrepreneur in memory of Sudhir Joshi, Best Journalist Award in the name of Pramod Navalkar, Adarsh Shiv Sainik Award in memory of Datta Nalawade, Excellence in Education in the name of Vamanrao Mahadik, Excellence in Arts in memory of the veteran comedy actor-filmmaker Krishna ‘Dada’ Kondke, and the Outstanding Social Worker in the name of Sharadbhau Acharya.
