New Delhi, October 17: Nayab Singh Saini is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana today. Saini, who was elected as the leader of the BJP legislature group on Wednesday, will head the new government. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to induct 10 MLAs into the Council of Ministers alongside Saini, leaving three slots vacant. Key MLAs likely to be included are Krishan Lal Panwar (Scheduled Caste), Ranbir Gangwa (Backward Class A), Rao Narbir Singh (Backward Class B), and Mahipal Dhanda (Jat).
Following Saini’s swearing-in ceremony, Chandigarh will host a historic National Democratic Alliance (NDA) conclave. This half-day event will bring together Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. The conclave, featuring 13 BJP Chief Ministers and 16 Deputy CMs, aims to address critical national development issues, with key discussions led by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio. In another significant development, Prime Minister Modi launched the BJP’s ‘Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan’ (Active Membership Campaign) in New Delhi on Wednesday. Modi became the first active member of the BJP under the new initiative, which aims to enrol at least 50 members in each booth or assembly seat.
