Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud paid heartfelt tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on October 2, commemorating the leader’s birth anniversary.
Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari, a former minister and BJP candidate from Surankote, died on Wednesday after collapsing at his home in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir due to heart attack. He was 75 years old and is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the most iconic figure of India’s freedom movement, on his birth anniversary. Modi also paid tribute to India’s second prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, who was also born on this day.

Mumbai, October 2: Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel on Tuesday, October 1, with some reports putting the number of projectiles close to 200. The attack came amid Israel’s ground offensive in Lebanon to target Hezbollah and days after the militant outfit’s commander, Hassan Nasrallah, and a top official from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in Israeli strikes in Beirut.

President Joe Biden has ordered the US military to “aid Israel’s defence” and shoot down any and all Iranian missiles targeting Israel, the White House said. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee in next month’s US presidential election, are both monitoring Iran’s attack on Israel from the White House situation room, it said.
