Mumbai, October 2: Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel on Tuesday, October 1, with some reports putting the number of projectiles close to 200. The attack came amid Israel’s ground offensive in Lebanon to target Hezbollah and days after the militant outfit’s commander, Hassan Nasrallah, and a top official from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in Israeli strikes in Beirut.

President Joe Biden has ordered the US military to “aid Israel’s defence” and shoot down any and all Iranian missiles targeting Israel, the White House said. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee in next month’s US presidential election, are both monitoring Iran’s attack on Israel from the White House situation room, it said.
